Want to "Friend" the Pope?
Representatives from Google, Facebook, YouTube and Wikipedia are meeting at the Vatican to help the Church better understand the Internet. That’s good since the Vatican seemed unable to do a basic Internet search. Had they Googled a few terms before lifting the excommunication of Bishop Williamson in February of this year, they would’ve found plenty of evidence – on YouTube and Wikipedia – of the Bishop’s position. According to the Vatican’s Secretary of State, Williamson’s views “were unknown to the Holy Father at the time of the excommunication's remission.”
Perhaps the Pope is planning an online absolution Facebook app – a lot quicker than a trip to Church for his 76,000+ Facebook fans.
It’s no more odd than touch-less Holy Water dispensers.
