The Day In Fast-Forward
I stumbled across this Web page recently. It's a collection of time-lapsed photos taken from a west-facing web-cam atop the Atmospheric Sciences and Geophysics building on UW campus. The web-cam snaps a picture every ten seconds and the server stitches them together to make a movie -- the day in fast-forward. The movies start an hour before sunrise and go until an hour after sunset. There have been a few recent days that I think are stunning -- this one looks like a freight train passing.
Yes, I admit it. After a few drinks I spent half an hour watching the past month go by in fast-forward... Oddly addictive, actually.
There's also a few screw-ups. But, hey, you get what you pay for.
